Came home from a trip to find this suspicious package waiting for me:

But I didn't recognize the sender. So of course I opened it.

Some grease for nuts and a brass stiffie.

I'm relatively certain you're not supposed to mail these things. However I'll definitely find a use for the contraband while giving the sparklers to my kids.

I'll be using this stuff for sure. The battery came out of the micrometer during transit but it didn't escape the box.

Some sweet stickers and flavor.

A little clamp, rise up lights (say it out loud and pretend youre in Australia), bmw spare parts, opener, empty bag, fluid nozzles, and pn 142839.

I think I'm supposed to use this stuff together.

I've plugged the flashlight in to see if it works.

Thanks grm new years giver! Thank you!!

Hopefully the BBQ sauce and chips make up for the remainder of randomness in the box.

The sauce is from a local place here in Birmingham.  My recommendation would be to make their signature dish with it.

  • 1 baked potato
  • Too much butter
  • Scoop of sour cream
  • Shredded cheddar cheese
  • Pile of pulled pork
  • Bacon (in bits)
  • Green onion
  • Plenty of sauce (warmed)

It should look like this:

We'll be trying this recipe soon!

You put down that box of goodies right now and start telling us more about the Honda.

It's under the knife again.  Being lowered on blown tokico blues and neuspeed race springs was too much for my back for a daily driver.  I've also wanted to lift it for years.  So I lifted it with DA integra rear struts/springs and EK civic struts/springs and EG forks.  I'm test fitting tires there.  205/65R15 on the rear, 195/65R15s.  Wheels are 15x6.5" from a 2020 Nissan Versa with 1" spacers all around.

I got back from Florida last night and was greeted by a happy brown dog and a box from California.  It appears to be a legacy box, I will throw this on the shelf for next year.

That's a familiar sticker, glad to see that making the rounds.

Very well packed.

GM lug nuts, heat shrink tubing, spacers and some rags.

Trauma sheers, a shift boot, some random stickers, Bosch 044 style fuel pump, a couple of wrenches one of which is a "customized" 19mm and a GM window switch panel.

Further investigation this looks like a GMT900 piece and the same trim as Mrs. Racetruck's Escalade which actually has a broken tab.  This is pro level stalking right here.

A 10mm and ratchet, mystery coil and "Bumpin" burnt CD

3 LS spark plug wires, a few small sheets of adhesive backed grip enhancer, some cutting compound, a light from an old Jag, a book, some sort of keyed gear, sort sort of wire crimper and an old Atari game?

There was another small box full of random wiring bits, an LS oil cooler block off plate, a lightly used sawzall blade, some first aid supplies and a bunch of other random pieces and a Chilean flag velcro patch.

Thanks mjrj! Grade A box contents and stalking!

Betcha a dollar the Buick thing is a coil.  3D printer somethings remind me of tent hold down things.  That you put on the end of a stake to tie your tent to?

Edit: They're the alignment rack! read the alignment paper.  Neat

A package has arrived:

Unfortunately, it arrived at the same time the Indy-household is waging a battle with the 'Rona.  Once we  recover, it'll be opened properly.

Apologies also to my recipient (West of the Rockies) your box hasn't been mailed yet.

Was planning on mailing my box tomorrow but then realized it will be MLK day, so that's out. Good thing as just for grins I retested and got another (sigh) positive result. This is 8 days from my last test. I feel fine but obviously I'm still a viral mess.

My enabler / supplier did some research. The box itself was hilarious and I almost didn't want to open it, but then I figured all of you would be sad.

The swag itself was strong. When I opened the box I was greeted by a friendly face:

From there it became a nearly bottomless pit of nostalgia, randomness, stickers and oily car bits.

Inspector Gadget, the camera key fob, the hot wheels and the candy were immediately stolen by my 5 year old. He grabbed them and ran while I was unpacking the picture and looking through the stickers.

Due to the rarity, I'm only showing the contents to paying patrons.  I'm going to hang it beside my Gulf Oil sign in the garage.

I totally dominate my kids in Pokemon, my main 'mon is a Charizard. So, that'll have to find a place.

I don't even think the king can help my musical ability.

And then, my 5 year old returned to rip out my heart...

Do you know how long it's been since I've had a double double?

There is also some metallic items which I assume came from a motor vehicle of some German nature.  I will need to inspect more later.  My oldest was ready for me to take him to the Lego exhibit (he's got a piece on display).

Amazing box.  Thank you for your trash!

Still no change in status on the box I sent... I had planned on calling the Post Office today to try and get them figuring out WTF was going on with it, but of course they're closed today so that will have to wait until tomorrow now.

Put together a supplemental small Priority Mail box and went to mail it Saturday- but while I was able to get the postage label from the self-serve kiosk at the Post Office when I went to drop the package in the drop box it was either full and jammed closed or locked. We would have trekked across town to another Post Office but had just gotten our Covid booster shots and wanted to get back home before any side effects hit (both of us were pretty much taken out for the following day after the 2nd shot, and correctly assumed that the booster would have the same result), so the box will be going out tomorrow and should hopefully be there by Saturday.

Now that my box has been shipped (and arrived) I felt ok to open the one that was sent to me, apologies for the delay in posting pics.

Snek says "Rattle Okay!" Bitchin' Ranchero to match the name of my street. My name isn't "Thank" but I do thank you for the box!

Sexy Italian hoof

Corporate branding :)

Couldn't think of an interesting opening method so no video this year

Tshirts!

Fuse box and power cable, metal cutters and some kind of specialty vice grip tool, a bike mirror so I can see all the hot chicks checking me out, a short length of chain, couple of hook turnbuckles, what appears to be exhaust mounts? and a mini Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube man that my 19yo son stole on sight

I did not know that, way cool!

90 degree intercooler or intake tubing, and couplers in mad JDM blue, some adjusting tool and parts for a razor scooter? a french tickler and some interesting coins from the Bahamas, which means I now need to go there per GRM law.

Stickers! Love the vintage GRM.

Here's some fun trivia for you Bryan from Ridgefield, Washington; Wilwood Engineering is located in the next city same county as me (Ventura County) in Camarillo, CA.

Thanks again for the box o junk, Bryan, I had a great time opening it and exploring the contents and will definitely put some of the items to good use. Happy New Year!

Alrighty, I figured it was time for a quick "by the numbers update" as we move into the last quarter of the game.  Looking at what we've got so far, it looks like just over 75%of the packages have been posted in the US postal system, and of those sent just over 60% have arrived at their intended destinations.  There are, of course, a few packages that have been marked as "delivered" but have not yet been posted to the thread.  So technically that puts us at just over the half-way mark for the game! laugh

(always on the bright side, right?)

If you still haven't posted your package (either to this thread or to the US Postal Services) please do so as soon as you can.  We know we're coming in at the tail end of what is a very busy season for everyone, but there are a lot of cool people who sent a lot of cool loot, and seeing the pain/misery they inflict on others is a HUGE part of why we all participate devil

Cheers everyone!  And here's to the second half (or 4th quarter.  Depending on which metric you determine such things by)

-Bill

I got my box late last week, but have been swamped, so without further adoo...

A webcam because I don't spend enough time on Teams and Zoom calls...

So much better than the imprecise filters that I have been using.

A distributor cap for...a car of some kind.

A knuder valve?  The BOV from the 1988 IMSA Audi Trans Am car?

An air intake/throttle body. So cool, I want to use this somewhere.

Another distributor cap, in red!

A shower head, for use in an RV I assume.

Saab windows switches IIRC.

Hose clamp for a 1994 VW Corroado.

Battle-ready pencils.

Audi Sport Quattro Hot Wheel!  I am in love. Also a Lambo Police car and an old Merc' reace car.

Book 2, I may have to buy Book 1 first because it is interesting to me.

Something to smoke weed from? AC compressor thingy? Rifle sighting device?

V-belt from a 2000 Marcos Mantra.

OMG I love these and have already put them to work while re-wiring the bathroom and living room.

A calendar that syncs up with where my projects are stuck.

Some hack magazine about classic cars...

Old VW window washer pressure tester.

Magic tape. It changed my cat into a toad.

Odd looking Viagra.

Bags, which I both love and will totally use.

Rubber feet, perfect for rubber legs.

An amazing collection of stickers, glitter Jar-Jar Binks? Hells yeah.

Thanks so much to the sender, I am away from the box so I can't recall whom this amazin person was but I will update as soon as I can get away from online meetings.
