Can anyone recommend a home laser engraver that is capable of engraving steel and titanium?
What type of laser is best?
What power level do I need to do a good job?

Lasers don't work well on reflective surfaces. You need industrial levels of power.
Engravers work better.

Hi , are you just trying to use it to just mark the metal with a part number , logo etc or engrave the metal by removing metal ?
I would like it to remove metal to have a more permanent mark, but I realize that may not be possible at a home level of laser.

Pulling off a "deep etch" rather than a simply discolored mark is going to need around 500 watts with a CO2 laser, possibly somewhat less with a YAG. Two to four times that will be able to cut sheet metal.
