Except I am also totally out of room and I already have two Explorers.
A 4x15 cab? That's gotta be huge.
It's got a weird configuration that has 2 speakers firing towards each other in a center port and 2 facing outward so it's a bit smaller than you would think. It's about the size of an 8x10 and weighs about 200 pounds.

If you re-wire that animal to change the impedance remember to put those two opposed speakers out of phase from each other.
That thing reminds me of a build called "the home wrecker" which used 4 15"s in two sets of opposed mounted speakers. Levitated carpets.
How much power do you plan to jam in that cabinet?

I'm not exactly sure at the moment. For 2 ohm amps I have 2 peavey mark IVs that put out 300w at 2 ohm if I keep it at 2 ohms.
If I go to 8ohms it'll probably be part of the wall I use for downtuned doom guitar so it'll get somewhere between 50w and 150w depending.
I didn't really have a solid plan for it except the pawn shop cut me an incredible deal on it and it's in perfect shape, like.....comes with the original dust cover shape

There's an Acoustic bass rig like that nearby on Marketplace for $750. I played through one in the early-90's and absolutely loved it. I have no room for it, and zero desire to drag it around to practices and/or gigs. But I still want it badly.

They also have 2 230 heads there too that have been there forever and they would probably give me a screaming deal on both and I'm resisting mightily.
Also have some super short scale Japanese bass that I tried out the acoustics with that I also want because it plays like absolute butter. I may need an intervention.
I will say though, that's the first time I've played thru an acoustic and I was expecting kinda wooly bass with the 4x15 but it was incredibly clear and present even with every bass frequency maxed. I've never heard anything quite like it. You should very much buy that one
So.... remember that I technically don't play bass and such?
Yeah.....I just ordered a 2x15 by a weird company off GC because they will ship it to my house for $34 and it was under $100. I think it's loaded with JBLs too.
I'm gonna need a bigger band room
I'm not buying, but this popped up locally and it's way rad.
Does it get better than Yamaha quality and 1980’s styling?

It certainly looks like it was designed in the heyday of cocaine parties. I think my buddy is in the process of buying it. He's coming over Saturday for D&D so I'll ask whether it's smooth or chunky, or if the seller made him do a bump first.
Randy, my guitar teacher, just shared a video of something new in his shop--well, new in his shop, not new, new.
Also, I think I need a bass.
Maybe I should have a couple more beers and then browse Reverb...
...because in my experience that's how I end up acquiring new guitars lol.

Have a few beers, browse Reverb, and buy a thunderbird.
Everybody needs moar bass!!!
And, yes, Randy gets in cool, funky stuff--find Guitar Attic on FB as well.
Most of my guitars have come from him, including the Univoxes, fretless Peavy, Geddy Lee, P- and J-basses, Japanese '57 reissue Strat, PRS CE-22, etc., etc.

Oh yes, I've played bass for awhile. But I sold my trusty Ibanez to my brother a long time ago and haven't had one of my own since.
I really want a 5 string jazz bass but haven't come across the right one at the right time.

My buddy bought this. Brought it over last night and I'm blown away. First look is it's a bit foreign. The design is just different enough that every detail is unique. The headstock isn't flat, it is angles slightly back and wedge shaped and the left and right tuners face outward from each other. I should have taken pictures. The finish is flawless and a really cool off while pearl with just a hint of sparkle. And the neck. Oh man the neck. I've never played a bass that was so smooth and fluid. I'd have bought this thing just to play unplugged. It felt that good. It was late so I didn't plug it in, and we were gaming anyway. Such a cool find.

I didn't look at them too closely, but it was a big deal for my guy. He won't change the strings, likely ever, but it'll be in tune by golly.
