Yeah, I realized later in life, that really Indy did jack-E36 M3 in that movie. You could take him completely out and the end result would still be pretty much the same. The Nazis were digging in the wrong spot but were in the right general area and would have continued to level the place until they found the Ark, so all Indy did was hasten their finding. He failed to prevent it from falling into Nazi hands. He failed to destroy it when he had the chance. And the Nazis still ended up opening it.

But really, who cares? Toughest part of Star Wars movies for me is how close stars are to each other, and what sort of toilet facility there is in an X wing fighter.

But it's worse than that. As someone pointed out, Indy's meddling probably enabled WWII.
