My Facebook feed is filled with cylinder head resurfacing videos. I watched them for most of my training ride home.
Some guys at work forced me to sit down and watch the first season of White Lotus, which goes against everything that I would normally do.
Surprisingly, I kind of liked it.
I was telling other people about it and mentioned that the only character who really seemed like a decent human being was the newlywed wife. But I'm terrible with names, so I Googled it.
One time.
Her name is Alexandra Daddario.
Now my Facebook reels are full of videos of Alexandra Daddario. Every day.
I'm okay with this. Highly recommended.
My flight out of DFW is delayed for 3 hours so I need something to pass the time.
How about a breakfast Bloody Mary?

Confession to my confession:
I had two Bloody Marys. Any more and I wasn't sure if I would be able to get to my gate.
My tolerance has greatly decreased in the past 3 months
.
I just washed dishes wearing my welding helmet.
I'm going to blame undiagnosed ADHD. I was welding while fixing my office chair when I walked inside to get a washer that I had forgotten. Next thing I know I'm washing my dishes from lunch with my welding helmet still on. Also in unrelated news, I still haven't learned that when I weld things they get hot.
We've had a few threads locked and every time, I kinda wish it ended with this image

In reply to Pete. (l33t FS) :
You have no idea just how badly I want to unload political ravings all over this board.
In reply to Duke :
Not the place, tho.
One thing I really appreciated about rallycross Nationals one year is that absolutely nobody was talking about politics, it was just about the racin'.
I confess I've told people at work to think of me as retired White Sox DHer Greg "the bull" Luzinski.
- Towards the end of my career
- little bit pudgy
- doesn't want to do a lot
- lets all the young guys do the work
- steps in and taps out a few homers
- probably overpaid
I tend to not mention the overpaid thing -

That dad could rake.

My confession is I know what comic this is from and love it.

Likewise about non political, but related matters, lest I piss off a large group.
In reply to dculberson :
And that's probably a clip from the most remotely safe for work comic.

Hence my silence.
Currently assessing my fleet to determine which car strikes the right balance between high reliability and low market value, so I can get to the airport on time, and then stash it away at a super sketchy long term parking lot for a week.

And... I think the winner is the green Accord.

Finally watched Ted Lasso.
OK, OK, it was just about as good as everyone said it was. But man, the hype was relentless when it was actually on.

I'd never heard about that show until recently when it was mentioned on a radio show I listen to about advertising. The ads didn't make me want to watch it.

I have less than zero interest in sports, but the sports in this case were only a vehicle. The character development and plot arcs were good, and some of the dialog was really funny.
I took the time to email Sparkfun when their latest newsletter led with an ad for a small bulb holder and bulb. I mean, what a waste of time, how pedantic.
But I couldn't not.
Engineered for efficiency, it reliably delivers 1.5 volts of electricity. With a current output of 0.3 amps, this setup is ideal for small-scale electrical projects requiring minimal power.
A light bulb and holder.
My viewing preferences lean toward YouTube videos created by soft-spoken, and sometimes silent, individuals sharing their (typically automotive) hobbies. It's a way to feel a little bit connected to car stuff even when I can barely muster the initiative to check tire pressure once or twice a year.
Yesterday the algorithm - all hail the algorithm - suggested I watch a Japanese man scratch-build a miniature laundromat. So I did. Then a donut shop. Then a bakery. A tiny, cluttered Japanese apartment. The most impossibly gorgeous toast, for crying out loud, topped six different ways.
And now bento boxes the size of a nine-volt battery.
This is a rabbit hole from which I may not return.
In reply to DarkMonohue :
I got that same video suggestion a few weeks ago. I wonder what what connections the algorithm looked at to decide we both would like that video?
In reply to Appleseed :
Beats me. I often get the same stuff in my personal feed as in my work account, despite the fact that they are not connected in any way and my work account sees as much music and news as car content. The impression is that YT just constantly throws crap against a wall in hopes that something will stick, and they often throw the same crap at everyone.
We also watched a guy build a couple variants of Howl's Moving Castle from scratch and, as he puts it, from garbage. Holy smokes. What some people can do just boggles the mind.
Yesterday was my last day of this school year as a substitute Auto Mechanics teacher at a local VoTech HS. My first day was 4/24 and I was recruited to help get them to the finish line this year when their teacher quit.
Minor confession: it hit me in the feels a little bit when a couple of the kids sounded disappointed that I wouldn't be back on Thursday.
Second minor confession: I might throw my hat in the ring to do this full-time next school year.
