Ever other morning kid 2 and sometimes kid 1 will join me for an early bike ride before I leave for work at seven. We have lights and helmets, but ride on busy roads. It's a bit of work getting kid 1 up especially, but they are quicker to be alert, and more attentive at their school after one of these days. We used to leave around six. The sunrise moving has prevented us from leaving until around 6:30 this morning, and civil twilight is still moving. Even after DST switches us around, I noly gain back another two weeks.

What else can I do with them in the morning outside in the dark? I'm not keen on riding in the dark dark on days where commuters are out there facebooking and teslas are out there running into parked trucks while getting to work.

I want to know how you get your kids up that early.  Ours sleep in forever

Our kids wake up at 7. 30 min TV. Then ready for school. 8am at their desks.

We do our bike ride everyday 6:30-730. pm. No car issues here. 58 miles of bike path, never have to cross a street. Perfect for kids.

We have a slack line course thing. They barely use it.

It varies. It is not easy. I find that getting the excited to wake up with Daddy while Mommy stays in bed actually improves their productivity and happiness throughout the day. Mine too.

How old are they?

My kids are teenagers. Sometimes they're up by the crack of noon, but don't count on it.

The start of school has been rough, at least for the older one who doesn't have to be behind his computer until 11.

Younger sister is still in the enthusiasm phase, we'll see how next week goes.

i'm an early bird and when my little guy gets up with me i usually have him sit with me on the back porch or kitchen table and let it be a time to talk about life, get him to share his thoughts and try to implant nuggets of how his papa thinks in hopes of guiding him as he develops his young mind. He's 10 and we get a lot of laughter having these conversations. such a smart and idealistic little boy lol good times.

My grandson just got a telescope and it got set up the other night. It was amazing, you can see the moons of Jupiter and even Saturn's rings. This is only a "nice" one I was very impressed with how well you can see. Only problem may be sharing,  good luck sounds like fun.
