Not to hijack the trick or treating thread, who else had an adult, libation filled holiday?
Myself, I was in Boston with Mrs. Neon and friends. We had a room at the downtown Hilton, great central location. Group outfits included Luigi, a witch, a warlock, Missy from DR. Who(think evil marry poppins), and myself as commander Riker.
The night consisted of pre gaming, dinner at Quincy market, much wandering, the harpoon brewery and lastly Mr Dooley's Irish pub next to the hotel until last call. Unfortunately, last call was at 2. That was also when DLS ended, reverting back to 1am, that didn't count, but helped with the next morning.
People watching was great. Amazing costumes, all over. Rule 34 variant, if it exists, there is a "revealing female" version of it.
This morning I was the first up, got ready and wandered down to the harbor. I ended up passing through Hyundai filming a Sonata Hybrid commercial around the wharf. I was in the background in some shots. I hope to make it on tv.
Much fun was had, who else has any interesting tales of last night.
I got home from work a bit before 10pm. Curled up on the couch with the cat, and watched a few episodes of "Married with Children".
While not fun or exciting by any stretch of the imagination, it was a rare chance for me to let my brain shut down.
I enjoyed it.
One of my neighbors is from Rhode Island. Don't know if it's a tradition there, but the fathers would take the kids trick or treating. Whenever they got to one of their houses, the dads would go in and have a little nip. By the end of the night, the kids were watching out for them.

I didn't do much on the day itself, but I celebrated proper when I did . I was in florida, so I bucket listed and went to halloween horror at universal. I am officially ruined for haunted attractions forever. It was incredible. Plus, my streak of getting monsters to break character because of my beard stands undefeated.
We had a semi-adult Halloween. Didn't sit at home to feed the local reproductive excesses, but instead headed out in the Mini-small, green, and with a front license plate reading Yoshi- and joined up with other lucas-infested rides on a Halloween parade through our nearby tourist trap town of Gatlinburg. Lots of fun, as many of the local businesses were set up with characters in costume on the sidwwalks handing out candy, so it was a full bore Halloween experience everywhere you turned.
Went to two historical Halloween things nearby with the wife, one about old time superstitions the other about the civil war and funerals. Then I got home and watched notre de barely beat temple and drink iced tea mixed with moonshine, it was pretty good.

Halloween proper was kids, trick-or-treating, and then taking the family to my mom's traditional halloween party for soup, pie, and cookies.
The night before, however, we had the quasi-annual outing with the ladies from the pole studio my wife works out at. We tried to hang at this dueling piano bar that has a pole for the girls to play on, but we kind of got kicked out because the girls were mostly dressed in the rule 34 costumes mentioned above and were taking the attention away from the mediocre pianists. From there we staggered over to another joint and drank scotch and danced sans poles until they shut down. We had a really good Harley Quinn, a very fuzzy skunk, a couple pirates, a Belle, a schoolgirl, a gypsy or two, and a few miscellaneous outfits that didn't count as inappropriate because it was a Halloween party. I went as an airport livery driver holding a sign that said "Godot". Only one person got it, but I blame the schools.
One of the best parts of the night, though, was our Uber driver that picked us up and took us to the first bar. Mazda 3 with a manual transmission. That's the first time I've had a taxi/Uber in this country with three pedals.
I fell asleep on a friends bathroom floor.
I know what "fell asleep" is code for.
I went as Speed Racer. I got drunk. I won a boot mug.
The kids decided to separate and go their own ways, so Mrs TheHoff and I decided to hang out at a local brewery. I was talked in to participating in a pumpkin carving contest while there too. You would think frosty beverages and sharp tools is a bad idea. I decided to play to my audience/judges and made this-
I know how to pander
Got the phone call a couple hours later that I won. Woohoo! A free growler and a t-shirt from Ballast Point Brewery. I'll take it.

It's the hours (minutes?) leading up to falling asleep that sound interesting.
bummer. i cant drink so much these days but was wishing for a pumpkin beer. We did make some home made cider from apples we bought at a local farm so that was real good. And i ate too much candy.
One of my daughters won a pair of gold fish at a carnival so my adult libation was supplanted by a trip to Pet Smart.
The $114 for a complete 10 gallon set-up did flow from my pockets like fine wine…does that count???

Bought wifee a new truck and got home in time to get the boys into their spiderman outfits. Had a minute to work some quick pumpkin magic. Spider legs proved a bit challenging so don't hold me accountable for being a few legs short...
