Disclaimer: I am not a parent. So, unless you're clearly abusing your kid, I can't critique. But I have been a teacher, so I know when people are doing it right. I want to praise folks here for a moment.
Really exciting to see a group of people bragging about-and receiving so much support-for doing things like making their son Rainbow Dash cupcakes or having their daughter want to be a Mechanic Princess. That's a sign of good values and good parenting all around.
I'm proud to be part of a community where people hold their kids accountable, want them to save up money to go part in to pay for a slightly rough first car that they're going to have to wrench on a bit, and teach them to solve problems on their own... and at the same time celebrate their kids make choices to just enjoy what they enjoy and do what they want to do without worrying that it fits a narrow, b.s. mold.
Thank you for raising your children right.
No photo, but taking my son to HDPE with this first car was such a thrill. He's an instructor now - dang I'm proud of him!
My daughter is finally behaving in school. And at the head of her class.
Im a proud pappa.
She also likes helping me paint, mow, and pull engines.
Now, if I could just get her to get ready on time in the morning without having to stand over her....
Ah hell. She's six. We'll get there.
evidence that my kids pretty cool:

She's a little older, but here's mine playing Power Wheels:
My 5 year old daughter is hooked on going to cars and coffee, so much so that when she misses one, she insists I take pictures of the cars to show to her.
She saw her first auto x a few months ago, and we are planning a trip to the drag strip soon.
I greatly underestimated how rewarding it is to share this hobby with your kids.

This is probably one I'm most proud of. That's him in the green shirt. A bunch of us dads split the tent rental costs and the pit space costs and have developed a team for when we go to these big races. This is my son at the first round of the Texas ProKart Challenge this year doing a track walk with the other drivers in our tent. FWIW, three of those are in my son's class and his competition, but he always wants to help people get faster and better. Of the kids in the pic, the smallest improvement was 1/2 a second (48 second lap time) and the largest was almost 2 seconds....
