Paloma Faith - Never Tear Us Apart
Not typically a huge covers fan but this one worked

On repeat today. Dunno why, just is.
I've recently discovered and become a massive fan of Jimmy Smith.
Picked up a copy of his 'Hoochie Coochie Man' LP at the record store today. Hammond organ, full orchestra, blues. 100% pure stank face.
Comes in with the organ at 1:05. Just... damn...
David Lowery sure can write wistful songs, and Johnny Hickman can nail wistful solos on his old Telecaster:
Mario Kart 8 sound track and the flooring guys' air compressor.
(Power outage at school means a very happy 1st grader gets a full day of TV)
Working from home.... lol.
Revisiting some of my '90s favorites today.
This is far and away the best Pumpkins album of them all - the one where they found their full sound, but before Billy Corgan's ego took over every aspect of the band's existence.
Driving back from the Y a few days ago, my teenage son played this on the car stereo from his phone and whatever magical musical streaming service the cool kids are using these days. I find that I can actually listen to some of his music, but I think this is the first song that really got my attention to the point where I had to look it up and thinking about buying a vinyl record of it, if such a thing exists. Or maybe an 8-track tape.
The apltly-named Volume 2, second album by The Sound Defects, which was effectively one guy from Indianapolis. He put out three fantastic albums, then decided family time was more important, and quit. But they are fantastic records. The first, Volume 1, is NLA anywhere. This is the second. The first two were largely samples, with some live tracks overdubbed.
The third album is The Iron Horse - it's the soundtrack to a nonexistent movie project. The third album is 100% sampled.

Hey! WNRN is one of my presets.
Went on a little eary/mid 00's kick yesterday thanks to an earworm.
These few were songs I hadn't heard in quite a while.
