And way way WAY out of the price range mentioned.

That's why I wanted to see if he'd sell it for cheap. (Never saw Joe Dirt.)

I know you are not too interested in 2 door Panthers, Just hear this one out.

performance- Add glass packs and any engine work you feal like.

Body- pull all trim, including grill, and maybe (front) bumper. Rattle can primer. Find the largest police push-bars/grill guard that will fit and add KCs or other extra lighting. Maybe a poorly done, yet functional, hood scoop.

After thinking about that, I really want one

Edit* I might just do this with the first cheap panther I can find, 2/4/wagon whatever. Maybe a hilborn hood scoop... And paint the steel wheels red.

Here is a good start to that idea

I think 2 door Panthers and 2 door B-bodies (Caprice, etc) are wicked.

I have my Newport for my own loud, cheap, fast, nasty car, except that it isn't that loud, fast, or nasty... yet!

I could see a properly-treated Panther conveying the right image for this project. Interesting. And I was disregarding the wagon option for this build, but these Panther wagons may have the proportions to carry it off...

What year Newport, Lugnut? Details on the build direction?

My ex-wife had this when I met her:

71 Chevy Nova. This particular one was only the inline-6 250. But a V8 version would work for you, with an open exhaust and skinny tires that you could turn into smoke pretty easily. I used to love driving this car. Get out on the highway, start flying down the left lane, and all the modern plastic bubblemobiles would bend over backward to get the hell out of my way!

I have to agree with the hearse idea............I've been having totally illogical ideas about finding a hearse and not doing a thing to it....just driving it as-is. Rust/whatever....If it needs any cosmetics, just update/replace with Krylon satin black and keep on goin'!

EDIT to add: Hearse has to be '65 or older................could also look for older Sedan Delivery too. I think either of these scream, "Get the h3ll outta my way or wind up somewhere you don't wanna be!"

I think an older Bronco/Blazer/Ramcharger/Van is up your alley and would do the trick:

That would be awesome. Or try to find a flower car to make your job a bit easier.

The trucks don't leave me with that nasty, fast, scary impression. I'm with mad_machine here, go ute. Some big ol' rusty Chevelle-based El Camino with new shiny vinyl stripes applied over the crappo rusty patina would do the trick.

Speaking of Joe Dirt and Mopars.... http://bringatrailer.com/2010/01/13/backyard-find-1970-plymouth-superbird-6-pak/

I know it's a legendary car, but I'd have a very hard time parting with 55K for something that looks like that.
