My supplier was sold once again and has had nothing but trouble filling my order. My current mask has broken and I can't find anywhere to buy a new one locally. I could order online but I only got about 2 hours of sleep without it last night and woke up with a pounding headache.
They are prescription only.

I can buy them on Amazon all day but none of the people will sell me one here in person not even the people that sold me the machine and should service it but keep getting bought out and making me resubmit all my info again.
Sometimes they appear on CL. A steam and bleach cleaning could help.
Just 2 weeks ago I threw away all my dad's new in bag stuff, masks, tubes, water tanks after 2 years of it sitting or else I'd overnight it to you.
Why not just get one on Amazon, then?
We started buying the wofe'sstuff online. it was just easier.

I'd be looking in the yellow pages first. I have friends in the industry, but they're in Canada so they can't help with recommendations for NY.

My mother had a CPAP machine that we paid $1300 out of our pocket for that she used for a couple of years then gave up on it. When she died, we couldn't give it away because its a "used medical device" and not legal to do so. I ended up taking it home thinking I might could fashion some sort of supplied air respirator for when I painted my car. Well before I got to that part, someone stole the MIG welder out of my garage. Several months later when I went to get the CPAP machine, I noticed it was gone as well. The bastards had stolen it too. I wondered if they had any idea what it was?
I was hoping I could pick up at least the broken piece locally since I really can't sleep without it. I ordered a replacement but it won't arrive until tomorrow at the earliest.

I wasn't sure what kind of fumes I'd get from either RTV or liquid nails so I went with a couple bits of foam backer rod and hot glue.

My sleep doctor had a E36 M3 ton of testers, all of which they were willing to loan me to try out and kind of implied that if I kept one they might look the other way. Maybe start there?
Other than that, though, I hear ya. The one time I forgot mine on a road trip i was shocked at how difficult it was to find something in a seemingly large town. Medical supply companies all seem to have a vague air of scammery about them, and won't hardly deal with a civilian anyway.
I just remembered something maybe relevant.
My dad's stuff was all through respironics. We were in Erie on a fishing trip and his mask broke. Called them, and they had a factory or outlet or something up there. At 1130 at night we headed down the road, and someone met us there to give him a new one.
Obviously not applicable in every situation and location, but could be worth a shot to call the manufacturer direct, they might pull the same thing for you.

I know what you're sayin', I'd be desperate w/o my CPAP. I'm so bad I woulda cobbled a mask out of an old shop respirator half mask if I had to, so I really wasn't kiddin'. Had to have a new diagnosis sleep study done about 6 months ago for new insurance purposes.. although we already knew I had obstructive apnea for over 15 years. A no CPAP test, worst night ever, I stopped the test after 4 hours and was ready to choke the livin' E36 M3 outta the tech for letting it go that long. She relented.
In my case anyway I found I can get at least some sleep w/o CPAP sitting in a chair, not quality sleep but some kinda sleep anyway, better than none.
It turned out to be a parade of clusterberkeleys on a day I didn't have time for it. I was supposed to take the wife to the dentist to get a cavity filled at 8:00 and then get ready for a new job I start tomorrow. Instead the cavity was worse than they thought and they hit the root. He can't do a root canal so we had to schedule an appointment with an oral surgeon. I took her home and tried to find a mask. My supplier was sold once again and my records were somehow lost. The doctor that did the study and wrote the script retired and I can't find where my records went. The only place I found that stocks supplies is 100 miles north but without a script I can't buy one anyway in New York. Then the surgeon calls to say he had a cancelation and can take the wife but he's in his other office an hour south of us. Now I'm finally home and getting my stuff ready for tomorrow while the wife sleeps off the root canal.
