I got on a plane one time flying from Minneapolis to Charlotte, North Carolina. Rick Flair was on the same flight. He got on the plane limping and wearing a neck brace, but when we arrived in Charlotte the neck brace was gone and he was walking fine.
My old employer hired Ric Flair for a motivational speaking event once. This was not too long after his son has died. He came in and did the "Woo" and other kinds of thing you'd expect of Ric Flair. But then he dropped the tone about 10 notches and laid down some serious life knowledge the likes I'd never heard. It was real, it was honest, and it was damned serious. I wish we had recorded it. I swear the room got colder and the air stopped moving. He said life has its ups and downs, you can't dwell, just move on and make the best of it. That's what he was doing. He's made mistakes, had regrets, wasn't perfect and never would be. But he was trying.
I don't think that was the speech he meant to give us, it wasn't rehearsed, it just came out, and it gave me a whole different appreciation for the real man underneath the robes.

I saw Flair about 20 years ago at Mt Tremblant Skiing with his family. You could pretty much track his where bouts by listening for the WOOOOOOOO!'s It wasn't him WOOOOOO!ing rather people who saw him were WOOOOOOOO!ing at him.
He didn't seem to mind and was very gracious with people in the lift lines. I saw him sign a few autographs and pose for some pictures. Fortunately for him, this was before camera phones, otherwise I don't think he would have gotten any skiing in.
Also, anyone know where I can get a horn that WOOOOOO!'s?
So any wrestling geeks in the Pittsburgh area wanna go to a match Saturday night?
I have 2 front row tickets, with t shirts. My buddy bailed and I can't find anyone else so I'm asking here. Ticket is free if you drive because the Ranger is only showing me 13.5mpg and Shinnston, WV isn't exactly close.
I only watched a little wrestling in the prime of The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin, i still dish out The People's Elbow to my kids when they get out of line. I also worked with a kid in highschool washing cars at a dealership that was working toward becoming a wrestler (he's a pretty decent amateur wrestler now) and he use to randomly pick up unsuspecting people in the wash bays, throw them up sideways onto his shoulders and spin them around, good times.
The last wrestling match i saw was midget wrestling at a bar in my college town and it was one of the greatest events of my life.
