In the thread that I started a couple of Days ago that was Suposed to be about a story on The Onion about Nascars proposed "car of yesterday". Wowak said "I was kind of expecting zonbie Earnhardt Sr.". I"ve never been into Dale Sr or zombies, but I do like cyborgs and Richard Petty.

So Zombie Earnhardt Sr. vs Cyborg Richard Petty... Discuss.

I think cyborg Petty will make short work of zombie Dale Sr, particularly on short tracks and road courses.

I agree, while zombies are undead, the Intimidator would be against a super strength King.

I think Zombie Sr. would put Cyborg Petty into the wall.

Was Dale Earnhardt really that good? I never saw him win a race. I liked him though, and the sport will never be the same without him.

Cyborg Richard Petty FTW unless Wowak is right (which he probably is) and Zombie Dale puts Cyborg Richard into the wall as he's getting lapped.

To quote some guy whose comments I found via google:

Some guy who cares alot more about this than I do wrote: Dale raced for 21 years, won 76 races, and 7 championships, and that is winning the ship in 1/3 of the seasons he raced in. Richard raced for 35 years, won 200 races, and 7 championships, or around 1/5 of his seasons he raced. Richard raced in 1184 races compared to Dales 676 races, and the seasons were much long during the first half of Petty's career, and the competition was far less stiff in Richard's early days. Dale had the larger fan base, and was the better driver. Dale was the definition of consistent as well. Richard scored a top 10 in 60% of his races, while Dale put up a top 10 in 63% of his races. Dale is also the only driver in NASCAR history to post back to back championships on 3 different occasions. You can bring up Richard's 200 wins all you want, but he raced with more races in a season, less competition, and nearly doubled the races Dale ran, and Dale won his ships at a 33% of career while Richard only won a ship in 20% of his seasons

Wowak made my point, for the first 20 or so years, Petty's only real competiton equipment wise were the woods brothers and they ran a limited schedule while the Petty's made it to every state fair ground and horse track, often running 3-4 times a week against the local nobodys. Dale senior had much more competition and more equal cars and backing. he was aggressive and would wreck his own mother to win a race, but was also one of the very few people who could drive anything they got into faster than anyone else. He's on a short list of people who could run rings around anyone else.

I would watch NASCAR again if they had a "Car Of Yesterday" series.

Cyborg beats undead.

I have little personal interest in NASCAR, but EVERY ONE on my Mom's side of the family was an ABSOLUTE Petty fan. If given the right car, I would do it up Petty style. And if "COY" does come thrue I probly will get into it.

The revelation of the aluminum parts in my Olds has shifted my plan to make it a street version of one of the old G/A body stock cars. It will then get to play around in some autocross races when I can get to areas that have races.

Hail to the King!

There's something ironic about Dale's death being the same way he often won races.

You mean by ripping his own brain stem out? I think he only did it that one time.

Petty will win.

Zombie Earnhardt in his arrogance will refuse to wear the Zombie Head Falling Off Prevention Device and will have his rather fragile zombie head fall off after trying to ram Cyborg Petty into the wall.

Did the car behind Dale actually make contact?

If I recall correctly, Dale Sr. did not have a great handling car, and appeared to be trying to hold up part of the field so that Little E and Mikey Waltrip could run the checkered. When the car (Jeremy Mayfield ???) behind him got up on his back bumber, it took the air off Sr.'s rear spoiler and the car started to spin. The spin unfortunately hinged the car on the front bumper of Kenny Schraeder and the car went almost directly up the banking and into the wall.

Its been a while and I might be wrong with my memory, but for me that was pretty well the end of watching NASCAR.

He made the ultimate sacrifice that day knowing that it was the only way Mikey was going to win a race, something even his motor mouthed brother wasn't willing to do for him.
