Edit:

Never mind. I read through this thread and there are enough issues that I am making reasonable choices and forgetting about this.

Or if someone in Springfield MO wants to go yank this one for me, I will pay you for your time and parts (of course).

I have one that I picked up a few years ago for $250 that I could likely get down to the challenge. I decided after researching them that I'd rather go MP62. The lysolm is beautifully efficient, but a nightmare in every other way.

Yeah, that is kind of the conclusion I have come to.

I used to work for an extremely large used car retailer doing appraisals. In the decade I was there, I did 20,000+ appraisals. Only twice did a car grenade the motor during my test drive. Both times they were S/C Millenia. Apparently Miller cycle + boost = boom

So what did you guys do when that happened?  Hand them the keys and say sorry we don't want it?  We get a lot of  "It was fine until your guy touched it!" claims.

SOP was to add another $500 on top of what the car was worth when it was running and just eat the loss. That's exactly what I did and thankfully they were happy with it both times.
