Honda RS125

Wow; that is cool! I love lightweight bikes, and love Japanese bikes. It looks like a trackday bike? How did you come to own it? What is it like to ride?

Thanks. Yes, its track only. I bought this one in 2005. They aren't that difficult to obtain. While purchase cost isn't too bad, cost to run them has doubled since Honda stopped making parts for them.

I've raced and tracked the FZR400, Ninja 600, CBR900RR, 650 Hawk, R1, and the RS125 was the most fun and best handling. I had the bike painted pink because the only thing worse than riding a 750/1000 and getting passed by a 125, is getting passed by a 'girls' bike. My previous 125 had a huge Hello Kitty on both sides for the exact same reason.

125s are a bundle of awesomeness.  I raced one many moons ago and still it makes me smile everyday....and yes passing big bikes on a little 125 is fun.

Yup just turning into turn 4 up at the Budweiser Balcony.

I ran the bike at Riverside; we ran the NASCAR layout and the bike just did 130mph on the mile long back strecth.

Had a wee rush of blood last week and picked up another project. A 1975 TY175B to go with the C model pictured on the left.

PO wasn't wrong with his naming as it's certainly had a difficult life ...

Despite its appearance it actually rides tolerably well (I bought it sight unseen via our equivalent of eBay). Guy was selling two of them and a friend bought the other one. I had a short ride, difficult because I had tweaked a calf muscle during the event and the clutch works, it's got all six gears, the motor is not unduly rattly and it has good power.

Fortunately i only had a short ride as the foot peg is hanging by a thread. Electric hot glue is high on the to-do list until I build some decent brackets to get them lower and further back.

Is there any interest in a build thread as I work my way through it's future and if so would that belong here or in the main Build Threads topic??

Of course. I was just looking at a TY250, thinking of running vintage next season

It's a 1998 R1. Was originally red and white. Bought it, brought it home and completely disassembled it. Had it painted and the frame / swingarm, and all bare aluminum was hard black anodized.

Funny that we have the same Michelin tires too.

KLR stuff. This is a couple valleys west of Death Valley, near Lake Isabella.

Those side cases are waaaaay too fancy for a KLR. You'll get thrown out of the club. Better pick up a milk crate soon.
