Local guy is selling a Kawasaki Concours 1400. All the bags make it a nice commuter, it has an alarm system and about 20,000 miles. Don't know what year it is.
He's asking $5400, I'll bet you can get it cheaper. I don't think it's advertised, just out in front of the garage with a sign on it.
If this pushes your buttons I can get stats and contact info.
Dan
I like it. It's like my bikes big brother. I even like the side scoops and lines on the side cases. If it were red it would so be a Testarossa.
Ugh...I need to talk to the wife...I've been looking at those.
Any farkels added?
Perhaps under the trunk box. Want more photos?
Dan
Hyper speed touring, like a newer version of the Honda Blackbird 1100xx
The missus will never know you're doing 90+ until she looks over your shoulder and starts kidney punching you to slow down. Get a top box like this and she'll won't even care.
From experience I'll say she'll start using it as her own purse and will be absolutely delighted.
My brother bought one of those over a year ago to replace his ST1100. He absolutely loves it. The Hayabusa motor moves that rig pretty well.
Cone_junkie.... It's a Kawasaki, not Suzuki. The engine is a retuned ZX1400
Any Japanese 4 cylinder with 1400cc's is pretty much the same isn't it? Obscene power.
Obscene power brings on huge E36 M3 eating grins in any gear though ;)
If I were looking for a sport-tourer, the Concours would probably be at the top of my list.
That is in fact a LOT of bike for the money!

This thread made me look locally, and of course near me there is a 2008 C-14 ABS with 48k for $5200. Corbin heated seats, new Michelins, aftermarket windshield, etc. etc.
I agree that is a LOT of bike for the money. I like my Monster but there is something to be said for a bike that can carry more than a copy of your registration and insurance card. I could see one of these or an FJR as my next bike.
I rented an FJR for the weekend awhile back. Was a great bike. Again, the wife loved it with a top box as a back rest for her. Had immense power and the handling felt better than it should have considering it's bulk. My one grip about it was that at low revs the throttle was....odd. It could be a bit snatchy wherein you would roll on the throttle, the power would come on, the power would fall off, you'd give it more throttle, and then the power would come back on with a bang. Early fuel injection issue was my guess. Even considering that it was a damned fine bike. A tremendous Q ship. I'm sure a proficient rider could embarrass sport bikes in the twisties on it all day.
GRTechGuy, I didn't get any photos today, but I did talk to the owner. It's a 2008 non-ABS model, no key just a fob thing, security system. People usually go for Givi aftermarket bags, the trunk box is real Kawi. Color matched. The saddle bags are also color matched and detachable. (waaaaay better when checking into a motel)
Electric windshield, LCD dash but I didn't see all of its functions.
It sounds nice with its stock exhaust. If you want to swap it for a nice BMW R-90, lemme know.
The owner Steve can be reached at 518.885.6224
If you need pics, info or perhaps a test pilot, I'm your guy!
Dan
Oops, Steve rides GoldWings, his ST-1300 went to is wife. I believe you can beat him up on the price a bit, negotiating skills aside.
If price is a concern, $5000 seems low!

GRTechguy- let the wife and kids eat peanut butter and jelly or generic mac and cheese. Sometimes you have to take a leap and go for it! I could even deliver it for you!
Minimac....we are already planning to head up your way. Might need temporary storage if I can convince her.
