Vehicle in question is a dedicated aurocross car; having dealt with vapor lock in a precious car even using a big Holley fuel pump I'm wondering about running a fuel line thru the cockpit.  The rules, unless they've changed, allow it.  Bad idea?  I've dummies it in place but. . . . . . . .

Steel fuel line only. Secured enough to the floor to prevent vibration.  Some sort of shield to prevent kicking and kinking or breaking. Bulkhead fittings ina nd out, or at the very least grommets through an aluminum plate rivitet to fill a bigger hole than needed, so if the rubber chafes through the aluminum will cushion more than steel on steel.

On my current build, im doing exactly this. Im also heat sleeving the whole run.

On my 70 duster, a return line and in tank electric pump finally cured the vapor lock and boiling issues i was having with the carb.
