Is this a good spot to put a thread about the stupidest car repairs we've had to make on our vehicles? Because seriously, some things just make you want to scream. Currently, I'm dealing with a shifter cable bushing-looks pretty darned easy to replace, but the part is darned near impossible to find! It makes me want to scream and break things.

Gave up on a clutch cable when the haynes made no mention of something cruise control related that needed to be removed from the bulkhead that apparently the slightly above useless internet informs me requires removing the inner fender plastic guard because it has a screw/bolt on that side then for the life of me with the lower dash cover removed I couldn't ascertain where the cable could be disconnected inside. 
I got the bushing in last night, took less than 15 minutes to replace. Easy-peasy, and earned me a smidge more respect from my mom.
