After taking a trip solo a few years ago and talking about it incessantly and how I wanted my wife ( girlfriend at the time of the first trip) to experience such a trip, she said that we should do that exact thing for my 30th birthday. Great write up, keep safe and enjoy the rest of your trip. Heat sux, if you can swing it get yourselves some mesh jackets with liners and ship your leathers home. Makes hot weather way more bearable. Check out Sedona while in the Grand Canyon area, it is spectacular.
