Car Catcher: It’s a Car, It’s an Aeroplane

We were promised more of these as kids, but this 1954 Taylor Aerocar is billed as “the only vehicle in the United States that is both air and roadworthy with full FAA certification.”

Power comes from a Lycoming 0-320 engine. In the air, it will go 100 mph. On the ground, it will cover 300 miles. If you’d like to see the auction or bid on this car, go to  Barret Jackson's website.

Not mentioned in the listing: How are the first class accommodations? First-release movies as well as some classicss? Wi-Fi? Live TV? Real glasses for cocktails, I assume?

Or a true race plane? (I admit, I don't know a ton about planes.)
