Car Catcher: Fully Restored E-type Series 1 With Numbers-Matching Engine

The follow-up to the XK120 and XK150, the E-type was originally introduced with a 3.8-liter straight-six, though displacement was increased to 4.2 liters in 1964. The engine produced the same amount of power but is said to have increased torque.

This 1965 Jaguar E-type is one such example, and it's reported to have received a three-year “complete nut and bolt restoration” from Georgia-based Speedwell Engineering starting in 2016. According to the seller, this Jaguar “needs nothing but a loving new owner who enjoys and appreciates a real and true ‘as delivered’ example.”

Finished in Opalescent Silver over a red interior, this E-type has its original engine based on the Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate. The listing notes that the Jaguar's condition is “better than when it left the factory.”

Available from LBI Limited for $245,000, this 1965 Jaguar E-type comes with manuals, tools, a jack, a spare and a grease gun.
