Car Catcher: Lotus Super 7 in Iconic BRG Tipped With Yellow

Hard to get more elemental than a Lotus Super 7. And hard to get more traditional than one wearing British Racing Green capped with a yellow nose.

Fantasy Junction is offering this 1964 Lotus Super 7 Series 2 for $42,500.

This particular Lotus is a genuine Series II Super 7, with known history dating back to 1969,” the listing states. “Originally manufactured at the factory and purchased by Lotus Southwest, this Left Hand Drive car departed Lotus Cars on 23 July 1963, destined for the first owner. The next owner retained the car from 1972 to 1999, followed by the next owner who purchased it in 1999. During his ownership, a comprehensive restoration (beginning in 2000) was performed by a cadre of professionals and racing experts, culminating in completion in 2005. In 2014 the car was consigned to Fantasy Junction and sold to the current owner. For the past six years, the current owner has used the car only sparingly during his ownership.”

The car is described as presenting nicely, as the restoration tackled everything: body, interior and running gear. While the car currently sports headlights, it has some competition in its past, too.

Insuring your classic car investment may cost less than you think. Learn more.
