Car Catcher: This 2003 Mercury Marauder Is The Last Traditional American Q-Ship

This 2003 Mercury Marauder marks the last body-on-frame, rear-wheel-drive Q-Ship made by an American marque. By 2003, Mercury was long-forgotten as a brand with cars that could excite, but the Marauder marked the final hurrah of the full-sized hotrod. Power came from a 302-horsepower V8, which sent power through a four-speed automatic to the rear wheels via a limited-slip differential. This Marauder has fewer than 100,000 miles and is reportedly free of modification. Hagerty values a No. 2 example at $20,000, with a No. 3 coming in around $16,000. This Mercury will be on offer at Mecum's Chicago sale October 24-26.

Seriously, I say this about a lot of cars, but I really really really really want to own one of these someday. Totally badass, especially if you put some boost to it.
