Car Catcher: A One-of-56, Sliding Roof-Equipped Porsche 911 Carrera RS 3.0

Built specifically to meet homologation rules, the 2.7 and later 3.0 Carrera RS models differentiated themselves with higher output engines—210 horsepower for the 2.7 and 230 horsepower for the 3.0—as well as a revised suspension, larger brakes, wider wheels and that iconic rear spoiler.

Seeing as only 56 are said to have been built, this 1974 Porsche Carrera RS 3.0 is at least somewhat rare—and that’s not taking into consideration that this 911 is “allegedly the only Carrera RS 3.0 fitted with a factory electric sliding roof.”

Finished in Light Yellow over a black leatherette interior, this RS 3.0 comes powered by its the 3.0-liter flat-six engine originally fitted to it from the factory. As well, the Porsche has had a few notable owners in its history, including Michael Donahue, Mark Donahue’s son.

Said to be “well maintained and exercised sparingly,” the listing also points out that this 911 could qualify for any number of vintage racing events like the Le Mans Classic.
