To celebrate the 50th anniversary of competing in the 1964 World Manufactures Championship in 2014, Shelby built a limited run of continuation models based on the Cobra 289 FIA. Only 50 were built, and this is one of them.
Powered by a 331 V8 engine said to be good for 450 horsepower, this 289 FIA looks like an original Cobra, though sports some modern upgrades like power-assisted Wilwood disc brakes on all four corners.
This particular car was ordered with a fiberglass body—aluminum was available, though at a higher price—and comes finished in Viking Blue with a yellow transverse stripe.
