Car Catcher: A Targa-Top 911 Perfect for Reliving the 1980s

Sponsored content Presented by eBay Motors.

Introduced in 1978, the 911 SC revived the Super Carrera nameplate for the first time since it was attached to the 356 SC. The story goes that the 911 was to be replaced entirely by the 928. However, with the 911 still selling as well, Porsche decided to sell them alongside one another.

This 1981 Porsche SC Targa is a later Targa-top example powered by an 3.0-liter flat-six good for around 180 horsepower.

Finished in Gray Metallic over a black interior, this Targa's odometer is said to currently read 134,673 miles. The car is reported to have had only two previous owners—both in California.

The listing notes that the 911 received an oil change, new tires and new brake components within “the past 10k miles.” The original manuals, spare tire and air compressor are all included in the sale as well.

Find this 1981 Porsche SC Targa for sale through eBay Motors with a Buy It Now price of $38,900.
