What do you get when you strip the roof and doors from a Series 1 Elise? This 1999 Lotus 340R should give you a good idea.
One of only 340 examples ever built–all of which were spoken for before manufacturing started–this 340R reportedly shows only 1150 miles on the odometer.
Noted as being a show car used by Lotus to promote the 340R, this example is powered by the same engine found in the Series 1 Elise: the 1.8-liter, Rover K-Series four-cylinder engine.
The seller does explain, however, that the car is not street legal.
