The Hilton Head Island Concours Keeps Getting Better and Better

The beautiful, autumn weather added the perfect background to a great weekend at the Hilton Head Island Concours d’Elegance and Motoring Festival.

We weren’t the only ones to think so, either: both Saturday and Sunday were well-attended by eager, like-minded folks. And while big crowds can sometimes hurt shows by making navigation and photo ops hard, the layout helped keep everything flowing smoothly with ample room to photograph the vehicles.

More than anything though, there was something for everyone: classic sports cars, well-established classics and cars from the ‘50s were all well-represented. Devoting an entire concours to cars made in 1959 was also a unique way to showcase all of the weird and wonderful cars from the height of the big fin era, too. We’re glad they asked us to bring our ’59 Edsel Villager to take part in the concours. It was a big hit and we had a good time talking about it with curious parties.

And along with the Class of 1959 Concours, the organizers also held a Cars and Water event which we were asked to judge. In the past there were a few nice cars, but this year had an amazing turnout.

We were absolutely blown away by how well-done this year’s event was—kudos to everyone involved in making this year great. We can’t wait until next year!
