Lola’s heritage website offers an in-depth look at its vast history

Here’s a great way to get lost in a fascinating rabbit hole of race cars: Lola Heritage documents all of their cars built from the 1956 Lola 1172 Clubman’s Special to their 2012 entry into the LMP2 category, the B12-80.

Under the Lola Type Numbers tab, you can scroll through each era of Lola formula cars, sports racers, and even a few sedans. Each listing has fascinating period photos, many right from the build floor, as well as historical documentation, technical drawings and fascinating historical artifacts.

Want to know what team owner and driver Ralph Kent Cooke thought about the Lola T600 GTP car as their team was preparing to take delivery in early 1982 and contend the new IMSA GTP series with Brian Redman also behind the wheel? The site contains the letters back and forth as Lola’s Eric Broadley worked through their suggestions.

Want to see the suggested aero setting for Lola’s championship-winning T87/00 Indy Car? Or maybe some original factory detail photos of one of the greatest racing cars ever, the Lola T70?  Yeah, those are in there, too.

Just don’t click that link if you don’t have at least an hour to get lost in motorsports history. Apologies in advance for your lost productivity.

In school I had a Lola T-shirt–just the Lola logo. It was something different than the usual band/school event T-shirt. I’m guessing I splurged for it at the Mitty.
