Love vintage Formula 1 cars? This year’s Classic Motorsports Mitty at Road Atlanta offers you a chance to watch them in action. The Mitty will feature the very first race weekend of the new Masters USA Series. The series will showcase dozens of historic Formula 1 cars from the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s, all being driven on track in the manner they were designed for.
The Mitty will be the new series’ first stop in it maiden 2015 campaign. After the Mitty they will hit Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca for the Monterey Motorsports Reunion and then act as a support race for the United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas.
Masters USA features 3-liter engined Formula 1 cars from 1966 through 1985, taking us back to an era where Cosworth power and a creative car designer could win races. This was long before the series was dominated by wind tunnels and energy drinks.
The Classic Motorsports Mitty presented by Hagerty is one of the largest vintage racing festivals in the U.S. The Masters USA races will take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
