The weather could not have been better for the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion with large crowds at the track.

More than 200 cars were on-hand for this HSR-sanctioned event, many of them well-known, championship-winning machines from decades past. Some favorites included the 1979 Porsche 935 driven by the likes of Brian Redman, Bobby Rahal and Paul Newman that won first in class and second overall at Le Mans.

The Group 44 Triumph TR8, which Bob Tullius drove in the 1979 Daytona 24 Hour, was also there. Historic F1 cars, too, including the 1976 Ferrari 312 driven by Niki Lauda for most of that season.

On Saturday, Hagerty hosted Driver Club Members in its Drivers Club Lounge. We were treated to a breathtaking view as cars came through the Andretti Hairpin and into Turn 3.

We also stopped to see the Elva Mk VI that Elvis drove in Viva Las Vegas. It’s remarkably similar to the MK IV we are rebuilding, and we used the opportunity to grab photos.

The BMWCCA was also on-hand hosting the 2022 Festorics, a collection of modern and classic Bimmers. They had a fantastic location on Turn 5, and everyone seemed to be enjoying the hospitality.
