Your Winners From Concours d’Lemons Michigan

Detroit had the dubious privilege of hosting The Concours d'Lemons Michigan last week, and from the pictures, we can say that rust was well-represented.

"Worst of Show" went to a 1989 Cadillac Allanté whose owner wished to remain anonymous out of fear from a group of Allanté owners who take matters very seriously.

The show also saw the debut of the "Half Assed, Half Car Detailing Competition” which pitted two teams against one another to see who could detail their car in an allotted time. Look for the competition to return at the Monterey show.

A record number of hoopties and rust buckets clattered and sputtered their way on the 27th Fairway at the Inn at St. John’s in Plymouth, MI on July 27, 2019 for the 5th Annual Concours d’Lemons. This year saw the debut of the “Half Assed, Half Car Detailing Competition” sponsored by Meguiar’s. Two teams worked furiously to detail every inch of half their hoopties. Meanwhile celebrity judges including Wayne Carini of “Chasing Classic Cars” and Ken Lingenfelter, accepted bribes from participants and narrowly avoided tetanus. The owner of the “Worst of Show” winning Cadillac Allante wished to remain anonymous, lest the Allante Jihadi come after him. When it was all said and done the sweat shop made trophies were given out with goodie bags filled with stuff we found at the Dollar Tree the night before. As always, the whole debacle was sponsored by Hagerty Insurance and Classic Motorsports Magazine, so it is really all their fault.
