With the old 230 S safely home, it was time to make a new list of things to fix and decide what event we wanted to run in next.
Still on our list: a track day, long distance rally and autocross. Despite not finding a more permanent fix for the sagging and vibrating rear suspension, having an oil leak on a very tired engine, and a leak in the power steering, we were very pleased with our old Mercedes’s performance. This was admittedly an insanely long trip, and our old 230 S was a trooper—considering what little time we had to sort.
