Apr 17, 2013 update to the Austin Mini Cooper S project car

Disassembling the Mini’s Subframes

The next step was to disassemble the subframes. We wanted to get all the black steel parts on the car powder coated, and most of these parts were located in or on the subrames.

Disassembly is quite straightforward, but the subframe assemblies of the Mini are probably the most complicated part of the car. Take your time, take lots of pictures and notes, and use a shop manual.

It was an itsy bitsy, teeny-weeny rally-winning project Mini. Subscribe to Classic Motorsports and get them in your mailbox.
