Our Trip Is Going Well

Our first two days have gone quite well. The Shelby is running like a champ. All the insulation and new seals we installed have really paid off, as this car is quiet, tight and truly drives and rides like a nearly new car. We are paying virtually no penalty on this trip, except for fuel mileage for driving a nearly 50-year-old car. We’re getting 14 miles to the gallon, which isn’t great, but what would you expect from a car like this?

We stopped at Mount Shasta the first night. California never ceases to amaze me with its beauty and variety.

We’re in Bend, Oregon, after stopping at Crater Lake. Wow, Crater Lake is something that must be experienced in person. Photos do not do it justice.

Our only issue is the power steering pump that’s starting to getting noisy and less effective. We’ll try some additive and are having a new one shipped in case it gets worse.

On to Walla Walla, Washington today.
