The folks at NPD gave us a great spot—front and center—and readers from all over seemed to love seeing the Shelby in person.
Every year, NPD sponsors a huge all-Ford show at the Silver Springs zoological park in nearby Ocala, Florida. While we aren’t car show people per se, we thought it would be fun to take our now-sorted Shelby GT 350 to this event—especially since NPD had helped us so much in putting it together.
The folks at NPD gave us a great spot—front and center—and readers from all over seemed to love seeing the Shelby in person. We had plenty to look at, too. More than 1000 other cars were on display at the show, while Silver Springs offered its legendary glass-bottomed boat tours during the event.
The Shelby felt comfortable and fast throughout the 120-mile round trip to the show. This car handles well and is actually rather quiet, let down only by its lack of door seals. We’ll address that shortly.
