1995 Kit Car & Replica Lotus 7

The body and frame were manufactured by RM LTD in Port Elizabeth South Africa. My father, uncle and I bought 11 of these frame/body kits back in the early 90’s. this is the one that I built for myself as a daily driver. The frame was highly modified and had an SCCA/NASA approved rollbar installed. The front suspension is double a-arms with Isuzu Impulse uprights and brakes. The rear suspension is a 4-link with pa hard bar. The disc-brake rear was from a 1985 Mazda RX-7 GSL with 4.10 gears and the factory limited slip. The motor was a Toyota 4-AGE out of a Corolla GTS fed by dual Mikuni 40 PHH carbs and fired by an Electromotive HPV-1 crank trigger ignition. The T-50 5-speed transmission came from the same car. The interior is outfitted with custom “seats” I guess you would call them and an assortment of AutoMeter gauges. The steering rack was a modified Datsun 240Z unit, wheels were 15x7’s wrapped in Toyo Rubber. I miss that car!
