1990 Nissan 300zx TT w/RB26DETT (single turbo) swap in the works. This has been my baby for several years now. It was originally an Automatic Non-Turbo, beat up beyond all belief through SEVEN, count ‘em SEVEN previous owners. Then it began a 5 speed and Twin Turbo conversion. 2 years later in 2005, it was up and running. The car was completely repainted in 2007 to it’s original #348 super white color. Then, I got bored with it. At it’s peak, it made 585RWHP and 505 ft/lb. It just wasn’t enough! Then I got the idea put into my head about putting the infamous “GODZILLA” engine (RB26DETT) into it…. RB swaps have been done on 240sx’s and Datsun Z cars for years (the RB engine is 20 years old, after all), but there are “bolt in” kits for these cars. None such exist for the Z32 (90-96) 300zx. Everything must be had fabricated. I’ve been working on this project since the end of 2008, and am a long way from completion. The engine is an R33 1995 Skyline GT-R, imported from Japan. I’ll post new pictures as the swap continues. I have the modified crossmember and custom fabbed chromoly sway bar installed and ready for the engine to bolt in place once I weld up the motor mounts. Borg warner s300sx Turbo, stainless manifold, 44mm tial v-band wastegate, Power FC D-Jetro management, custom FMIC, custom radiator, custom crossmember, mounts, etc. (Stock 300zx transmission, tranny mount, and driveshaft though!). I learned more about this from www.rbz32.com a Z32 300zx forum devoted to the RB swaps. UPDATE: 05-10-2010: I’ve uploaded some new pictures. I’m starting to collect all of the little parts to get it up and running. We’re getting close!
