Ok … here’s some more information on my little car. I happened upon this little gem after extensive searches on Craigslist and the local ads … I rushed out and managed to snag this one. Pics are kinder than in person, but overall it’s a nice solid car. Debate has raged, I was thinking of yanking the engine/tranny combo from my 1991 Dakota and turbo’ing it ala my Project Morris Minor days … but with fuel prices and the prospect of a running 1800 in there, I’m torn. Current thoughts are to just get it in running shape and enjoy it for a while while me and the new Mrs. decide on final plans. Only small hurdle is she can’t drive a 5-speed, and has had numerous attempts, but I think I’m man enough to get her gear jamming with the best of ‘em. (And if not, it’s a great excuse to upgrade the clutch!) The Good: Solid car, “restored” in early 1990’s from various artifacts I’ve found, originally green but now all red. New floor patch panels were included in purchase. The Ugly: Typical car rust … Fred Flinstone floorboards, hacked up electrical wiring, some things dismantled and put in boxes, but looks to be all complete for the most part.
