1970 Ford Mustang 256GT

This is a ongoing project started in 1980. It was put on the back shelf untill 2 years ago. Most of the parts needed were purchased back in 80. The rusted front fender was new at that time and was the last “Ford” fender for a 70 Mustang. Dont let that nasty looking engine fool you. It was rebuilt. Bored, forged pistons installed, heads ported, CCed, had 3 1 bbls on it at one point. Now sports a 2305 Holley 500 progressive 2 bbl. Mains were studed.Rods have ARP bolts, pollished, shot peened and resized. Crank was zero indexed and the recpricating assembly was ballanced by Precision Ballancing. Oil pan is a home made road race style. Oil pump was modified with a higher pressure spring. Sports a Crane custom cam, shell lifters and pushrods. Cylcone headers. Ended up with 256 cu in and about 300 HP hence the 256 GT designation. Those that have heard it run couldnt believe it is a 6.
