1992 Toyota Celica

10

I found this car in 1999 with 56,000 miles on the ticker. I have placed an extra 131,000.miles. When I got it home for the first time I found 4 different brands of spark plugs!!! in the motor. What was I thinking? Well it has only needed one clutch (@ 165,000 miles) & the three timing belts. All performed by me. I do all the work on it, from front end alignments to clutch R&R. As you know the aftermarket does not support this car so I had make those items I wanted on the car. Of the few items the aftermarket did provide for was the suspension, H&R springs & KYB struts. A nice change over the stock set-up. Then a few trips to the bone yard turned up a strut tower brace, a rear sway bar from a convertible, shifter, and sun visors for a total of $25.00! I made the spliter from two 1/4’ thick ABS plastic. (it comes just like 4’x8’ plywood) The rear wing is a universal item I couldn’t help myself so I put a flap on it to put more down force on the rear. The tire & wheel set up is 225/40x16 on 16x7” wheels. The next project is going green, as in B.R.G. the Celica has great MPG Aeound town 30 mpg & on trips the low 40’s has made rest stops almost a thing of the past
