1969 Porsche 911E (ST)

My 911 originally started off as a 1969 911E. It was in pieces in a garage when I bought and rescued it. It then morphed into what it is today. Based off the Porsche factory race car the 911ST, this car was the precursor to the 911 RSR. The rear flares are unique only to the 911ST, so they had to be handmade out of steel. These were made with the old school English wheel. The motor is a 2.5L flat six putting out 250hp to the crank. Pauter Rods, Aasco racing valve springs and Ti retainers, JE custom pistons, aluminum pressure plate and flywheel. This car moves around the race track. The suspension is still the Porsche type of the time, torsion bars. The shocks are re-valved Bilsteins. The car is light, and fast. The wheels are 15x8 Fuchs up front, with 15x10 Minilite repops on the rear. Tire sizes are 245/50 front and 275/50 rear. This car is currently campaigned in HSR-West, VARA, SCCA vintage. It was also one of the lucky cars chosen to race at the upcoming event the Rennsport Reunion at Laguna Seca in Oct 2011. This event is put on by Porsche. Interesting Facts: Top Speed: 144mph at California Speedway- Full Roval road course (1:53.3) without any aerodynamics/wing. Buttonwillow CW#13 2:00.3 Laguna Seca 1:44 (With power zapping muffler) 1:41.1 without. This car was co-driven with Patrick Long (Porsche Factory Shoe) in a 2 Hour Enduro. Patrick ran out of gas in the overall lead, with 1.5 laps to go. I needed a bigger fuel cell (12 gallon).
