1977 Datsun 280Z

For some reason I decided to swap in a VG30ET out of an ‘88 300ZX (the same V6 in every Nissan in the 90s, really) I made my own exhaust manifolds, bigger turbo, fuel pump, injectors, lots of piping everywhere. It was a lot of work for the 240HP at 18psi it made on the dyno. No, you read that correctly. It made 170HP at 9psi. So, currently I spent thousands of dollars and lots of hours of labor for the nearly the same power level I had with a stock L28. I have deduced that the donor engine might have some issues. But, well, that’s why I’m building another engine up right now.
