1981 Chevrolet Camaro Z28

Yellow 1981 Z28. This was a barn find for me — it was in the garage of the previous owner’s widow and had been sitting for several years. She needed it gone so that she could sell her house. The body and paint were in great condition (not showroom quality, but definitely glossy and clean). The tires were pretty badly dry-rotted. I purchased it for a great price, and spent about $200 to get it running (in addition to installing a battery, we replaced the fuel pump, fuel sender and a fuel line). While dropping the fuel tank to replace the fuel sender, we found the original factory build sheet, wedged in between the body and tank. The motor is a 5.7L small block V8. Based on the stamping on the block, it’s from a 1975 GMC pickup. The motor sounds like it has an aftermarket camshaft installed, but so far I have not tried to ID it.
