Something magical happens when a Toyota 4A-GE engine is paired with individual throttle bodies. We'd even argue that with this setup, this is one of the best sounding four-cylinder engines of the '80s and '90s.

I love Keihin flat slide carbs; I've had a set on the Datsun for 12 years now, they make more power than the DCOE type carb and are just absolute works of art.

If you really want to go old school, an L20 Datsun with Webers, a header , a 2 1/2 inch exhaust and a good old American turbo muffler sounds awfully good.

I'd say you nailed it with this one....love the sound of the 4A-G...especially when tuned! Here's a short (old) video of one fairly local to me that gets me every time:
The sound is a large part of why I can't bring myself to sell mine with the built ITB 16V, even though my heart's not really in it and I don't ever really drive it anymore!
