It might be obvious that this built 2JZ had some sort of head gasket failure, but what specifically caused that gasket to fail?
Just like a detective at a crime scene, an engine builder often has to piece together (well, in this case, disassemble) many clues to discover what went wrong.

So wait just a minute...I've always been under the impression that a 2jz was made of indestructible things, and they all make a thousand horsepower and last for ever and ever without any problems and rev to 9700rpm...
Have I been misled?
