Classic Motorsports Monterey Welcome Party Welcomes 2000-Plus Gearheads

Last night we threw a party, and more than 2000 people came to celebrate. Welcome to our Classic Motorsports Monterey kickoff party, an annual highlight on the Monterey Car Week calendar.

After outgrowing our previous locations, for 2017 the event moved to Pacific Grove. Its downtown provided the perfect place for this fast-growing collection of eclectic cars and the people who love them thanks to the area’s huge collection of great bars, restaurants and wine merchants. At the far end of town, a beer garden provided the perfect hangout spot. Music played up and down Pacific Grove’s Lighthouse Avenue.

Thanks to Hagerty, Michelin, Reliable Carriers, Superformance and Reeder Harman, there was no charge to participate. Everyone was free to park, walk around, and enjoy themselves.

Also new for this year was involvement from Moss Motors. They surprised a couple of British car owners with ribbons for best British example on the field as well as finest diamond in the rough.

We plan to return to Pacific Grove next year, and have already discussed ways to improve parking. Next year’s Monterey Car Week has been pushed back by one week, so we’ll see you at our next Classic Motorsports Monterey Kickoff Cruise-In at Pacific Grove on Tuesday, August 21, 2018.
