Many of us can trace our automotive obsessions back to early childhood. Today, Kentucky car nut Scott Willis owns a fleet of three classic Brits, including this restored 1959 MGA 1500. Back in the ’60s, though, his daydreams were devoted entirely to Miss DeMoss, his first-grade teacher. Whenever she stayed late to tutor Scott, she’d drive him home afterward in her white MGB. “I never forgot the smell and the sound of that car and how cool it was to cruise with the top down,” he says. “I was hooked for life.” Things with Miss DeMoss never panned out, but Scott and his wife did drive off in a can-dragging MGB after their wedding ceremony.
