Your Tests: Vredestein Sprint Classic Tires on a Sunbeam Tiger

Vredestein knows that Classic Motorsports knows a thing or two about vintage tires. And they know that our readers do, too. That’s why they came to us with a simple request: Find five readers worthy of a set of Vredestein’s latest classic tire, their Sprint Classic. Over the next six months, you’ll be seeing feedback from these readers in the form of regular blog posts on our site.

I applied through Classic Motorsports and was selected for a new part-time job—Tire Tester for Vredestein.

Vredestein is marketing the Sprint Classic radials for older/classic sports cars and offered my preferred [and hard to find] 205/60-13s.

This is a modern high performance, V-rated summer tire with classic looks, available in a range of 13-14-15 and 16-inch sizes to suit our old cars. The prices are very reasonable as well. My local tire shop mounted them and the guy noted that they balanced very well.

I’ve been out for a couple of joy rides, keeping in mind the break-in protocols generally recommended. The tires run quietly and very smooth; I did a few blasts up to [and maybe a little beyond?] highway speeds. My initial impressions are very favorable. Stay tuned.
