1500-1800 rpm. High idle, still figuring itself out.

And still putting together. A bit of a list before driving, including the ac idler pulley that was fine when i pulled it is now stiff as hell and needs replaced. For no good reason. And i broke the fog light bolts pulling the front bumper. And the headlights need polished. And the front suspension needs torqued from replacement. And....

That boost gauge isn't reading anywhere near where it needs to be. laugh

Is it at least building boost if you stomp on it instead of dying?

Power steering pump is dying. Rattle from the back. Broke a sway bar end link. Pulls left. Some various rattles and bangs over bumps and turns. Need to nut and bolt check.

45 miles down, only 150 more today!

There's an o-ring on the fluid input line to the power steering pump that starts to fail and allow air in. This causes an audible grown and eventually damages the pump. Definitely worth checking/replacing and then bleeding the system.

I actually thought about the o ring. However, it wasn't noisy until i removed the hoses that are quite hard.

Im thinking the hoses are where the air is getting in. I have all the spare stuff from the parts car, so ill try that first. And swap the o ring for thorough sake.

Damn, man. I'm sure it didn't feel like it at the time, but that's a right quick troubleshoot and recovery of an obscure harness problem.

Also, didn't know the back seats were a pass through to the bed. That's awesome.

i also did not know about the back seat pass-thru.  E36 M3, that's kooky enough for me to give subaru another chance.

and yeah, the sawblades look fantastic on there.  nice work, duster!

Thanks everyone.

No beating yet. Want to work the kinks out beforehand.

200 miles today. Tomorrow I'll put it on dads lift for a.once over, and swap the power steering pump and resivoir. Its no longer building pressure.

Some squeaks, rattling, banging and clunking to find.

Cel for lean code

Coast to on throttle has some bog/hesitation/uglyness to find

Exhaust leaks out the wazoo

Needs alignment

I dig it!

The broken end link turned into a good thing. Tribeca sway bar, though reported to be a bolt on, bound up on BOTH lower control arms. Deformed the mounting points for the end links. I had to get a large prybar to remove it from where it was bound into the crossmember and lcas. Popped out like a rocket shot. Factory baja bar back in.

Looked at that.it fouled in different places then.

Oh well.

Stock baja bars back on, rids and drives way better. 99% of squeaks, clunks and rattles fixed. Waiting on diff bushings to fix that. Power steering was fixed with the o ring, the best pair of hoses and resivoir from the pile, and a few worm style hose clamps. Not noise free, but quiet enough!
